Located at the heart of Busika’s Extreme Adventure Park, the Hangar is an adaptive reuse project that transforms an industrial shell into a multi-functional space combining a cutting-edge gaming arena with contemporary office suites. The design vision sought to preserve the integrity of the existing structure while reimagining it as a place where play, technology, and professional creativity converge.

Design Vision

The architectural concept embraces the hangar’s vast span and structural clarity, allowing the interior to remain open, flexible, and future-proof. The central volume is dedicated to the gaming arena, where immersive lighting, acoustic modulation, and suspended installations create an atmosphere of energy and intensity.

Spatial Experience

The spatial experience is one of contrast and transition: from the expansive, dynamic central arena to the calm, refined office zones, visitors are guided through a rhythm of collective excitement and personal retreat. The exposed steel trusses, polished concrete flooring, and timber accents highlight the raw honesty of industrial architecture, while carefully detailed glazing and contemporary finishes introduce refinement and comfort.

Architectural Highlights

  • Retention and celebration of the original steel structural framework, left exposed as a defining feature.
  • Strategic natural light interventions through clerestory glazing and full-height openings that illuminate the space while framing views of the park.
  • A modular design approach allowing the interior to adapt to evolving functions without compromising the openness of the hangar.
  • Integration of landscaping and articulated entry points to soften the building’s industrial presence and connect it seamlessly to the park’s recreational context.
